Susan Budash was born in Chicago in 1949 and currently resides in Amherst, New York a suburb of Buffalo. She specializes in Still Life painting in a Classical Realist Tradition.

Susan displayed a talent for visual expression at an early age. Her parents recognized her interest and talent for the arts, encouraging her development with frequent visits to the Art Institute of Chicago. They also enrolled her in 3 years of private instruction with Jack Simmerling, the accomplished Chicago landmark water colorist. Susan majored in studio arts in high school, and her creative efforts resulted in an Illinois State Scholastic Fine Arts Award during her senior year. Beginning in 1990, Susan enrolled at the State University of NewYork at Buffalo, subsequently earning a BFA in Printmaking. Immediately following graduation, she continued with her studies - earning an MA in Contemporary Art History and Studio Printmaking in 1997. In 2001 Susan was awarded a New York State Council of the Arts Special Opportunities Grant for a solo exhibition at the Hoyt Institute in Pennsylvania. Susan's work is represented in Fine Art Galleries throughout the United States, and her work is held in many private and corporate collections.

Susan's lifelong journey of education and application of the Fine Arts has sustained her creative tempest within. Her inspired renderings in oil are the result of her passion for artistic expression.
