Title: Five Cow Scene Painting Date: 1922 Artist: Soeren Lund, Danish 1852-1933 Size - 14,5" x 22" Unframed, 19.5" x 27.5" Framed Description Original quality oil painting on canvas. A fine landscape with cows grazing close to the lake. Good detail and use of colors. The condition is very good with no missing paint, holes or tears. The frame is in a very good condition with only minor signs of age. Biography Soeren Joergensen Lund (1852-1933) is a listed artist. He was educated at the Academy of Fine Art in Copenhagen under Joergen Roed and went to Laurits Tuxens painting school as well. He traveled to the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy. He exhibited widely; at Charlottenborg, Kunstnerforeningen, Nordisk Udstilling, in Paris 1889, Kleis' Hoestudstilling, the World Exhibition in Chicago, several years at Kunstnernes Efteraarsudstilling and in the Deer park Group, to mention a few. Soeren Lund was an animal- and landscape painter, although he also did a few marines. He often made very calm compositions in a reddish tone and belonged to the period between J. Th. Lundbye and Th. Phillipsen & Fynboerne. He is represented at Nordjylland's, Faaborg's, Fyn's and Aabenraa Museum and at Stantens Museum for Kunst. |
